Conrad Chamber-Main Street's Community Development Committee (CDC) works to enhance the community's overall economic health. CDC activities include business retention, expansion and recruitment programs. The CDC also provides business consulting and access to National and Main Street Iowa conferences and training.

Over the years, the CDC's economic development efforts have resulted in the Wolf Creek Estates and Tucker Trail residential developments, Oak Estates Assisted Living, recruitment PCA, and the expansion of Ritchie Industries, among other achievements.

CDC now has a revolving fund called the REACH program.
